6'10 PF Alexander Johnson, Florida State University, NBA Memphis Grizzlies, and one of the Elite alumni at Team Georgia 2/13/2005 - Coach Al Outlaw and Linzy Davis are teaming up with the best basketball coaches in amateur basketball to build on their worldwide reputation as having one of the best amateur programs in the world. Team Georgia Elite continues to lead the field in player development and exposure as Team Georgia will continue to travel nationally and to Europe to compete against the best players in the world. Team Georgia will also use their power position with the national and international media as many of the games will be televised in all age groups via TGEliteTV.com. Select games will also get aired on cable TV. The list of coaches are proven names in the business, and they are winners. They are also great teachers of the game. Mark Humphrey, Ronnie Williams, Harry Douglas, Guy Coleman, Musa Dan-Fodio, Lloyd Parham, Alan Gales, James Houston, Coach Coz, Coach Carruthers Grayson, Jeff Telfare, Bryant Conner, Galen Johnson, Stan Davis, Greg Smarr, Vaughn Miller, and Donnie Davis, just to name a few, and list of great coaches are growing ... Harry Douglas developed his son, Toney, into a great person and basketball player. Toney was one of the leading scorers in the nation his senior year. Toney also was the second leading scorer on the USA Junior National Team that finished second in the Junior World Championship, 2002. He was also one of the leading scorers his freshman season in the SEC while playing for Auburn University. Toney took a peak at the NBA draft but decided to stay in school and sharpen his skills at Florida State University.
Mark Humphrey successfully did double duty with his two sons Quin and Markel. Quin was Player of the Year in Henry County for two years in a row. Quin is on the NBA radar screen. He is the leading scorer and rebounder in the Horizon Conference as a sophomore guard playing for Youngstown State University. He also led the conference in scoring his freshman year. Quin was a key player that lead Team Georgia Elite to the final 4 at the AAU Super Showcase.
Markel Humphrey earned Player of the Year in Henry County. The 6'6 southpaw guard is a deadly long-range shooter who has earned a starting position for Marshall University as a freshman.
