Little Swishers League 2001-02... Little Swishers League 2000-01 Team Georgia falls to Welcome All Team 1 12/17/01-Coach Linzy Davis had to attend a Nike meeting in Orlando, Florida, and when he called to get the results, he found out that the young Team Georgia team filled with 7-year olds just didn't have enough to stay with a very strong Welcome All Team 1, filled with 8-year olds. Welcome All pulled away in the forth quarter to win 22-15. Welcome All had won their first to game 42-0 and 38-0. This is expected to be a championship showdown of which coach Davis vows his team will be ready... Team Georgia 8u extends winning streak to 17 12/11/01- It was a team effort as Burdett Team Georgia (2-0) extended their winning streak to 17 as they defeated Welcome All II 22 - 0. It was a great defensive effort as Team Georgia continues to show good fundamental defense. Team Georgia is a young team filled with second graders that are competing against third graders. Drew Davis continues to learn all the responsibilities of the point-guard position. He scored on a couple of long-range jump shots. He also fed his teammates who can score effectively. Justin Henderson, Brandon Cook, DJ Johnson and Michael Mack scored well, and Kofi Amichia looked good inside along with Lloyd Parham and Ugo Amundu. Galen Wise and Stanton Davis both had solid games. Team Georgia 8u extends winning streak to 16 12/5/01- It was a team effort as Burdett Team Georgia extended their winning streak to 16 as they defeated Sandtown 17 - 9. Team Georgia is 1-0 on the season and plays Welcome All Wednesday at 6:15 pm at Welcome All. All the players had a solid overall game including PG Drew Davis. Lloyd Parham provided strong inside scoring. It was balance scoring across the board. Team Georgia 8u season begins 12/1/01- The old Team Georgia 6u team that finished undefeated last year, moves up to the 8u division. Coach Davis moves down again to coach his son, Drew Davis. Their first game is today at 11:30 am at Burdett. The team has a player, Diallo Jones, who will come in every Saturday from Tampa, Fl., and a few new faces. |
