Team GA Ladies

Team Georgia Gentleman

Outlaw clear choice for 15u Team GA Elite

The record on Williams getting thicker

by Kenny Woods

4/28/07- Team Georgia Elite 15u team will be taken over by Al Outlaw, who is considered among the best coaches in the country and was a three time coach of the year in the USBL, and won the award over coaches like John Lucas, who went on to coach in the NBA.

But we have more details surrounding Ron Williams, who was ousted as Team Georgia Elite 15u coach for writing bad checks, stealing Nike equipment, not delivering Nike equipment to the players, lying to the players and their parents, having parents meet him to pick up equipment and not showing up or calling, not holding practices, not picking up kids for tournaments, misrepresenting Nike Georgia Elite in the recruitment of kids, lying to kids about getting them into to Nike Camp, upsetting high school coaches and parents with his recruiting tactics, and lying about the record and integrity of other AAU programs and coaches.  "People need to know about this guy and his fast talking tactics. He makes you want to believe in him, but he doesn't belong in AAU basketball.  He was fired as an assistant coach at Riverdale High School for stealing money.  It will not end until he is in jail.  It was a definite Red Flag when Ron Williams was trying to get me to purchase uniforms using a credit card from a man in Oklahoma with ties to his University, to buy the uniforms.  I wouldn't do it. I'm not going to jail for anybody." said Outlaw.

We got a copy of an email from one our sources regarding Ron Williams...

Norman,

I welcome the change of Ron Williams going to your program. He does not represent Team Georgia Elite and the values established. Please read below to remind yourself of what you said about him. Your assessment about Ron below is correct as you will learn first hand. You will need to build a relationship with the players to protect yourself.

Ronnie could no longer be with Team Georgia Elite when he lied to the kids and didn't show up in Houston. I had to piece his team together to play. We had five teams signed up for Houston, and Ron was the only "no show, and don't care, because I'll use Linzy as the fall-guy."

There were kids who drove 4 hours to the airport, and he knew he didn't have airline tickets for them. He tried to hustle Ernest Dabel, whose brother plays on the 15u team, for the airline tickets. His attempt failed. He also failed to use the airline ticket I purchased for him. He also cost me an entry fee, van, and pre-paid hotel expenses.

This fits into a two year pattern where he has written bad checks to Hoops and Fitness $200.00, Martha $300.00, Mr. White $300, of which I covered, to keep our program name clean. He didn't pay his Macon AAU Entry fee, which had to be solved by a parent. He hadn't delivered Nike gear to players as promised and it upset the parents.  Camion, who is in your program, can tell you how upset his mother was with Ronnie. You need to talk to her and find out the facts.

I've cut my losses with Ronnie. All I need for you to do is to help me get back 4 each Nike balls, 2ea size 14 sneakers which were suppose to go to his players in Houston, and our Nike Team Georgia Elite uniforms. I know he doesn't have the integrity to return them.

I hope you try to help me in the same manner as I tried to help you with returning your uniforms.

Below is an email sent 2/24/2007 explaining the importance of our custom uniforms, and what is missing.

Ronnie,

Team Georgia Elite uniforms that your team used in 2006. It cost $50.00 to replace a jersey and $50.00 to replace a pair of shorts. We can’t replace anything this year because the deadline for replacing uniforms is in September of each year. This is a custom order which is suppose arrive six months later (by March).

Black Jerseys

(11 total with 4 missing), 5, 32, 33, 25, 42, 12, 44, 21, 31, 3, 23 Black Shorts ( 7 shorts with 8 missing), 1each xl, 2 each 2xl, 4 each 3xl White Jerseys (10 total with 5 missing) 10, 21, 5, 44, 22, 33, 23, 12, 1, 42 White shorts

(12 total with 3 missing) 1 each xl, 7 each 2xl, 4 each 3 xl

We have to force our kids to care and make them responsible for returning the uniforms or paying for them. We need these uniforms for the kids in our program this year. Thanks for helping us get them back.

Ron Williams ousted as Team Georgia coach

by Kenny Woods

4/26/07- Ron Williams will have to move on to another travel program as he has been ousted from Team Georgia in what is described by co-director Linzy Davis, "philosophical differences."

But sources close to Davis said Ron was finished with Team Georgia when he failed to show up with his team at the Houston Kingwood Classic, costing Davis over $3,000.00 in prepaid expenses including the entry fee, van, airline ticket, and hotel expense.  And Mr. Williams had players who lived as far as four hours away from the airport show up to tell them they don’t have a plane ticket when he knew that information two weeks in advance.

Team Georgia Elite had five teams entered into the Kingwood Classic, including three 17u teams, one 15u team, and one 13u team.  The only team not in attendance was the 15u team coached by Ron Williams. “He let those kids down who didn’t make the trip.  And he had no explanation. There is no reason for a kid to miss the trip.  All of our kids on the other teams took the plane except for six kids who went via a van.  So therefore, there is no excuse for a kid to miss this exciting tournament with all the college coaches in attendance.” Said coach Al Outlaw. “We will not let anyone coach in our program who doesn’t care about kids, and misleads parents. He can take that charade somewhere else.”

There is a two-year pattern of disaster that has followed Ron Williams.  He had written bad check for $200.00 to Jonesboro Hoops & Fitness. He asked Martha, a parent to rent a van for his team in 2006, and promised to repay her $340.00 for the van.  When she called Ron Williams for reimbursement, he didn’t answer her calls or return her phone calls.  Martha stated that Davis paid the bills for Ron Williams to preserve the name of Team Georgia.  Ron Williams asked Mr.White for $300.00 to pay for hotel rooms.  He said he would reimburse him for the expense.  When he didn’t repay the expense, Mr. White took his son and left the team.

Williams known as a good recruiter which makes him attractive to  AAU teams.  "He could run for governor of Georgia and win." said Davis. "He has excellent skills at making you think he is the only answer, and the only coach for your son.  If you mention another AAU program, he already has his line prepared as to why they are not worthy.  He will call you at least five times a day to make you fell important. He is excellent at discrediting other team victories, and he always has a reason why someone else was the problem why his team didn't win.  And someone else is the blame why his team didn't show up at a tournament, and it is someone else fault why most of his players aren't showing up at local tournament games." said Davis. "He is self-proclaimed as being perfect.  He is a fast talker, and skillful at controlling conversations.  He is a funny guy, and friendly. He missed his calling. He should run for mayor or govenor."

“We run a tight ship.” Said Davis.  “We are excited about the development of our players.  We have taken the necessary steps to keep our program on top. We wish Mr. Williams well.  Coach Al Outlaw is a master of developing young talent and has NBA caliber workouts three days a week.  There is a reason why he is so successful, and he will develop the 15u group into something special.  You have to get in the gym and work on your game and Outlaw is a master of preparing kids for high D-1 scholarships.  Outlaw is proven and well respected, and the kids love him."
